Legacy FSD founder Mike Cooper is a third-generation kitchen designer and fabricator. Mike began his food service design career in the 1980’s working with his father, Doug, at Lynndale Stainless (a company that Doug co-founded). Doug had worked in the kitchen fabrication business for 50+ years, even working with his father in the early days of Phoenix-based Designer’s Choice Stainless (DCS). Mike honed his skills during his time with Lynndale Stainless, thanks to a great team of family and friends.
Mike sought a new challenge with CDF (formerly named Aladdin), which was based in his hometown of Scottsdale, Arizona. CDF was founded just a few years earlier, and Mike joined a young team, led by Jim Menasco. Jim moved the company to Las Vegas in the mid-90’s and focused on the city’s rapidly growing resort business food service design.
Mike was part of the team that worked on the old Harrah’s, The Mirage, Treasure Island, and The Venetian. Those early successes earned CDF the reputation as the “go to” firm for hospitality, restaurant and bar design, and Mike was an integral part of the team. Subsequent projects included the Wynn, Wynn Encore, Palazzo, Green Valley Ranch, Red Rock Casino, The Cosmopolitan and City Center, among many other.
So, what’s in a name like Legacy? It’s generations of trained experience in the best restaurant and resort food service designs for some of the world’s most high-profile clients.
